My little brother is a pretty special guy. He’s only 11 but he understands that hard work will get him what he wants.
Like most kids, he plays video games. When the Nintendo Switch came out he really wanted one. The only way he can get one is to save up for one. He’s not waiting on Christmas or birthday money either. He’s actually working for the money.
On days where my sister is working and doesn’t have time to do her dishes, he gets paid to do them. He’s got a whole calculated roadmap as to how long it’ll take him to save up.
He knows that if he wants something he has to work for it and that’s admiring at such a young age. I did something similar when I was his age but in a different way.
I thank both our parents and family that we grew up as hard workers.
